Today, nearly a fortnight after his election, Los Santos will finally have a new mayor.
City Hall, Los Santos
I write to you on this, the day the polls open, not with a plea, not with a promise, not with a wish. I do not feel the need to patronise you with telling you what to do – you are all, each and every one, a bright, intelligent spark in a world that flies to close to despair.

As a strong and proud man, it gives me little pleasure to speak to you through another written statement. It brings me even less joy to write this from a hospital bed, in a compromised state. I would like to begin by apologising for my absence from office, and particularly for the sudden nature of it – as certain vultures were quick to try and capitalise on. Please, let me explain:

In the absence of a formal Mayoral Surgery this week, I am writing this statement to be released through Weasel News to let you all know what’s going on at City Hall. Firstly, let me state once more that it is an honour to be able to serve each and every one of you, and I will continue to do so as long as you will have me.

It is a great honour to stand before you today and present my vision for this fine city. To look out at all the familiar faces brings a warmth to my heart, and the opportunity to have even a hope of serving you is truly humbling. Today, as we launch this manifesto, I am prepared to shoulder your expectations and raise this city to new heights. Our vision here is clear – to make Los Santos not only a home to such kind, giving individuals, but a home to ingenuity, creativity, entrepreneurship, and industry for years to come. Each of these campaign pledges aims to promote these principals.
