Los Santos, SA – Some days you win, some days you lose. On Monday, the house won, and won big. Of course, by house we mean the Los Santos Police Department. And by won, we mean seized nearly $80,000 of stolen cash, along with other contraband.
Last Friday the Forum Drive Families carried out a robbery of an armed bank truck and made off with nearly $80,000 in cash, 2 Fleeca bank security cards, and 2 Gruppe Sechs security cards.
The gang attacked the Gruppe Sechs armored truck, injuring the guards in the truck, before taking the truck to the ball field near Forum Drive, where they broke into the truck.
Neither Gruppe Sechs nor Fleeca Bank responded when asked for comments, and have not yet made any public statements.
Following the robbery, LSPD became involved in a shootout with the Forum Drive Families at Forum Drive. Support from Air 1 was able to track the movement of the Families as they evacuated with the ill gotten goods towards the Puerto Del Sol Marina where they transferred the goods into a separate vehicle owned by the Families. Air 1 continued to watch the group as they moved the new vehicle towards the docks at the Port of Los Santos.
Warrants were issued for six members of the Forum Drive Families gang in relation to the robbery and hiding of the vehicle.
Monday the following week, May 8, LSPD apprehended a member of the Families following a pursuit, and were able to act on the outstanding warrant to locate the hidden vehicle.
In the vehicle the LSPD found an AK-47 assault rifle, a rifle suppressor, the security cards, and $79,797 in marked bills.
Lieutenant Veronica Hudson said “It was a big victory for us and we’ll continue to keep an eye out for [the Families] and other gangs. […] It was a team effort.”
Gang violence continues to be an ongoing problem in and around Los Santos, but it seems like the citizens of this city can rest a little easier knowing that people in uniform are doing what they can to fight back.
