LOS SANTOS, SA – On Saturday around Noon Los Santos Police formed a barrier at the entrances of Pillbox Hill Hospital and evacuated the area of all personnel.
Two SUVs were parked at the North and South entrances of the drive-through at the main entrance of the hospital, both with lights on. Police fences were posted on the Southern entrance in front of the vehicle. One armed officer was stationed at the North entrance.
The officer who seemed to be in command of the operation told me as they were breaking down the scene that it was a “training exercise” to learn the building, in case anything happened in the future. Unfortunately I was not able to get their name or badge number before they needed to leave. If the officer in question would like to make any further statements or clarifications they are welcome to email me directly.
If this was indeed a training exercise it was certainly realistic. I happened to already be at the hospital waiting to see a doctor about a minor injury when one of the SUVs flew through the drive through in the opposite direction of travel with lights and sirens on full alert. Seconds later another LSPD SUV pulled up to the door, and two officers in full combat dress, one with assault rifle drawn, jumped out of the vehicle, quickly carrying a third towards the operating rooms.
When I stepped outside I spoke to the officer standing guard at the North entrance. He informed me that they needed to evacuate the area, myself included, because there was a high risk individual in the building. Luckily they allowed me to receive treatment for my own injury before I left the area, but they made it clear the urgency with which I was to do so, immediately escorting me to the exit once the treatment was finished.
If this was in fact a training exercise I am uncertain. If the goal was reconnaissance the evacuate seemed excessive. I have a line out for the LSPD press liaison to contact me. I will update this story as new information becomes available.
