Los Santos, SA – Gang activity continues in Los Santos as two members of The Vagos robbed the Vangelico fine jewelry store in Rockford Hills on Monday. What the pair of criminals lacked in intelligence, they made up for in creativity, as the robbery would involve food that suspiciously resembles the food from UwU Café, a taco truck escape vehicle, and an EMS helicopter.
As the Vangelico location was preparing for closing on Monday night, the two gang members entered the store and began smashing cases. The manager of the store triggered the silent alarm, but unfortunately one of the saleswomen was shot in the store.
When police arrived on the scene, a taco truck was parked in front of the store, and the two gang members began trying to sell food and drinks to the responding officers. It is unclear if this was intended to be a diversion from the beginning, or if it was improvised, but the pair were prepared with food. Some of this food included burritos which seemed to closely resemble the Purritos available from UwU Café, only marked up to an eye watering $4,500.
Officials have yet to name the suspects, but an eye witness on the scene claims that one of them went by the name “Mateo.”
When police caught on to the fact that the pair were likely involved in the robbery, the pair attempted to escape the scene in the taco truck, smashing into one of the police SUVs as they did so. This led to a chase across downtown Los Santos that ultimately ended in a shootout near the parking garage of the Central Los Santos Medical Center. Luckily no one was injured in this shootout.
Following the shooting the two were about to be taken into custody when they managed to escape on foot towards the hospital. At this point they scaled one of the ladders leading to the roof of the building, and the landing pads for the Medivac helicopters, which happened to be stationed there at the time.
Officers followed them up the ladder, but were not able to catch them before they were able to commandeer and take off in said helicopter. Unfortunately for the pair, neither were familiar with how to fly a helicopter, so their joyride was short-lived as they were able to miraculously land the helicopter back on the roof of the hospital not even a full minute later. Both of the gang members were injured during the flight, but it does not sound like the injuries were severe.
Once the two had landed police were able to take them into custody where they retrieved the stolen jewelry, which consisted mainly of gold and diamond necklaces, ear rings, and other such accessories, valued at roughly $20,000-30,000 retail.
The pair were charged with armed robbery, assault, evading, and possession of illegal firearms before being sentenced to prison.
